Valencia tops La Liga rival Osasuna

Goals by Daniel Parejo and Roberto Soldado gave Valencia a 2-0 win at Osasuna in the last-16 of the Copa del Rey on Tuesday.

The match began amid tense midfield exchanges, with Valencia proving the more effective team with winger Sofiane Feghouli attempting crosses from the right for striker Jonas.

The best first-half chance came in the 38th minute when Parejo crossed to Jonas but goalkeeper Asier Riesgo pulled off a low, one-handed save.

Parejo finally made the breakthrough with an expertly-taken free kick over the wall to beat Riesgo in the 47th minute.

At the other end, Valencia keeper Diego Alves stopped Juan Martinez's attempt in the 74th and did so again with Anthony Annan's shot a minute later.

Soldado tapped home Valencia's second goal in injury time.
