USA's Cameron Carter-Vickers signs new Tottenham deal through 2019
U.S. men's national team prospect Cameron Carter-Vickers has signed a new deal at Tottenham through 2019, the club announced on Thursday.
Carter-Vickers, 18, just made his first-team debut for Tottenham in the League Cup last week and was on the bench for the club's Champions League match at CSKA Moscow on Tuesday. He has drawn recent praise from Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino and fellow Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen.
Pochettino said last week that, "For me, he will be one of the best center backs in England in the future. He has a strong mentality, good quality and all the qualities for playing center back.
Vertonghen, meanwhile, told ESPN FC that, "In the last few months, he's really stepped up. Before, he was just a young guy who trained with us but now he's picked up his level. It's great for young guys like that coming through the academy."

Carter-Vickers was born in England but has represented the USA at every youth level from Under-17 through U-23. Despite the dual eligibility, SI's Grant Wahl reports that Carter-Vickers is "all USA" when it comes to his international allegiance.
Carter-Vickers' previous contract, which he signed last October, was due to expire in 2018.
