United linked with fresh Lahm move

Manchester United could finally get their hands on Philipp Lahm this summer after Bayern Munich reportedly indicated a willingness to sell.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been an admirer of Lahm for a number of years but Bayern have previously always knocked back his enquiries.

However, Ferguson will have been impressed by Lahm's displays for Germany at the World Cup and the Daily Express claims he is lining up another approach.

Bayern rate the full-back at around £15million but are now said to be ready to talk to United if the Premier League outfit are willing to sacrifice Dimitar Berbatov or Ji-Sung Park as part of the deal.

Ferguson's latest comments appear to suggest he will give Berbatov another season to find his feet at Old Trafford - he hailed the Bulgarian's class after Saturday's 3-1 friendly win over Celtic - and Park remains a key member of his squad.

The Scot does not feel Rafael is quite ready to be a first team regular, however, and could be tempted to consider a part exchange to land Lahm.
