United defender Rafael set to join Lyon, according to French reports
Manchester United full-back Rafael Da Silva is set to join Lyon, according to reports in France.
The 25-year-old, who did not start a Premier League game after October last season, has been told by Louis van Gaal that he has no future at Old Trafford.
Rafael did not go on the club's pre-season tour and he has been linked with host of clubs including Galatasaray, Benfica, Roma and Fiorentina, but Lyon are in pole position to sign the former Fluminense man, according to L'Equipe.
The right-back is contracted to United until June 2016 and could sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January and move on a free transfer next summer, but he looks set for an imminent move to Lyon with the deal said to be "very close" to being finalized.
