UEFA: No disciplinary case against Real Madrid defender Carvajal

NYON, Switzerland --

UEFA says it has not opened any disciplinary action against players after a testy Madrid derby match in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal clashed with Atletico Madrid forward Mario Mandzukic in a 0-0 first-leg draw on Tuesday.

Still, Mandzukic used his Twitter account Wednesday to deny he was bitten on his right arm despite images implicating Carvajal, who also appeared to hit the Croatia forward.

UEFA says the only case opened is against Atletico Madrid for a ''field invasion'' and blocked stairways at the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

A spectator approached Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo as he left the field after the match.

UEFA says its disciplinary panel will judge those charges at a May 21 meeting.

The second leg is next Wednesday.
