Turkey's Fenerbahce kept from Champions League
The top court in international sports says it has rejected Turkish champion Fenerbahce's emergency request to be reinstated to the Champions League.
Fenerbahce asked the Court of Arbitration for Sport to overturn the Turkish Football Federation's decision to withdraw the club's entry while it is under suspicion in a match-fixing investigation.
Fenerbahce also wants compensation if excluded and believes European soccer's governing body influenced Turkey's decision.
League runner-up Trabzonspor has taken Fenerbahce's place and will begin the six-match group stage at Inter Milan next week.
The top sports court will hear Fenerbahce's full appeal against the Turkish federation and UEFA at a later date.
