Toronto FC troll Montreal Impact for painting the lines on the field wrong
The first leg of the Eastern Conference final was delayed for 40 minutes because the Montreal Impact grounds crew painted the 18-yard box lines wrong. Yes, seriously.
Now they eventually got it fixed with the box re-painted to its correct width, but it wasn't a thing people were going to forget anytime soon. Toronto FC, who just so happened to be Montreal's rival and opponent in that Eastern Conference final, definitely weren't going to let them forget.
So when when the Toronto grounds crew got to painting the lines for the second leg, of course they threw some shade.
You paint the lines wrong against your rival in the conference final, you hear about it forever. Them's the rules.
