Toluca retains top spot in Mexico
Toluca drew America 1-1 on Sunday to remain undefeated in first place of Mexico's top division after seven rounds of matches in the Apertura championship.
Carlos Rodriguez slotted in a penalty in the 71st to earn the point for Toluca, but America played most the game with ten players after Jesus Molina was sent off for a high challenge in the 38th.
America had taken the lead in the 67th from Rubens Sambueza, who took advantage of an error by Toluca goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera.
In the day's other game Puebla drew 1-1 with Chivas.
Jesus Chavez put Puebla into the lead in the 32nd minute, heading in from a corner.
But youngster Luis Morales equalized with a diving header in the 82nd in his second appearance in the first division.
