Teenager ends Nice's poor run with winner vs. Montpellier

NICE, France --

Teenager Olivier Boscagli gave Nice a 1-0 win Friday over Montpellier to lift the Riviera side to fifth place in the French league.

Boscagli, the youngest player to score in the French league this season at 18 years, 1 month, pounced on the rebound in the 31st minute after Montpellier keeper Laurent Pionnier parried away a shot from Vincent Koziello.

The win ended a poor run for Nice, with just two victories in its previous eight league matches and midweek elimination from the League Cup.

Montpellier sits in 13th place, seven points behind Nice.

Runaway leader Paris Saint-Germain, which has a 17-point lead over second-place Angers, visits Caen on Saturday.
