Suarez insists he won't change ahead of Uruguay comeback

Barcelona and Uruguay striker Luis Suarez insists he will not change the way he plays ahead of making his international comeback after his nine-match ban.

Suarez last played for his country at the 2014 World Cup where he received a nine-match international suspension, as well as a four-month ban from football-related activity, for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini.

His international ban is finally at an end and he is expecting to feature in upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Peru.

"The 'new Luis Suarez' means that I'll keep the same attitude, running, pressuring, arguing, no one is going to change the way I play," he said.

"Yes, of course, I'll do it with moderation, like I've been doing at Barcelona. I'm trying to be more clever at a lot of things, trying to take advantage of the situations that life is giving me, the opportunities. I'm trying to give my best."

Uruguay have enjoyed a good start to their qualifying campaign, winning three out of their four games to sit in second place in the 10-team table, behind Ecuador, the only side to win all of their games so far.

After facing Brazil in Recife on Friday, Uruguay return home to play Peru next Tuesday, March 29.

Suarez says he is looking forward, in particular, to facing Barca team-mates and Brazil forward Neymar and defender Dani Alves at Arena Pernambuco.

"The only things I talked about with Neymar were jokes," Suarez added ahead of qualifier. "Both of us will do our best for his team, Dani Alves also, each one will try to give his best for his team and well, the one that wins will be in favor and the one that loses will try to cheer him up because we're still partners at the club.

"I also know Neymar a lot, we both know each other quite a lot. But no matter what we say, what happens on the pitch is totally different. I think every rival nowadays knows how each player plays but at the time of the match, depending on the moment, depending on the feelings, it will be different.

"It doesn't matter if I tell you that Neymar turns left because he can turn the other way, and if he says that I always turn right I can turn left. So I don't think that really matters."
