Stoke's Wilkinson get more time
Stoke defender Andy Wilkinson has been granted an extra 24 hours to respond to his Football Association violent conduct charge.
Wilkinson was charged following an altercation with Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli during Saturday's 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium, and was initially given until 6pm on Wednesday night to respond.
However, the FA have confirmed that the full-back will now have until the same time on Thursday to answer the charge.
Balotelli went down after an apparent off-the-ball clash with Wilkinson, the pair having shadowed each other most of the afternoon.
Referee Mark Clattenburg spoke to the players but took no action and replays did not suggest anything serious had occurred, but Wilkinson was charged after video footage of the incident was reviewed.
