Stoke set to wrap up Ledley capture

Stoke boss Tony Pulis is a long-term admirer of Ledley and failed with a succession of bids for the 23-year-old back in the summer of 2008. He has retained an interest in his countryman ever since and is now ready to make the Wales skipper his first signing of the close season later this week. TEAMtalk understands Ledley is due to undergo a medical at the Britannia Stadium in the next 48 hours and, should he pass, he is set to put pen to paper on a deal with the Potters despite interest from the likes of Roma, Galatasaray, Celtic and Everton. Cardiff will be due compensation for Ledley as he is under 24. Stoke are looking to strengthen in a number of positions ahead of the new but Pulis is not expecting too much developments until after the World Cup. He told the Stoke Sentinel: "We are aware of who is and who isn't available, but agents and players are still dipping their toes in the water and not committing themselves just yet. "That will change as time goes on. It's just a case of everyone being patient and then hoping we can get who we want when people start making firm decisions."
