Sporting Lisbon President Eyes Cristiano Ronaldo Return
Sporting CP President Bruno de Carvalho has said that he wants Cristiano Ronaldo to end his career at his home club
When asked if he would like for the 31-year-old to return to Sporting Lisbon, he responded “Yes, without a doubt, I would love for Ronaldo to end his career here, at home“. Cristiano Ronaldo started his professional career back in 2002 when he was called up to the first team of Sporting Lisbon.
The manager at the time, László Bölöni, decided to promote him to the first team due to being impressed by the youngster’s dribbling prowess. He made his way through the ranks, becoming the only player to ever make his way through the under-16, under-17, under-18, B team, and the first team, all within the same season.
In the span of the season, he attracted the attention of Arsene Wenger, Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier, and Barcelona president Joan Laporta. The young winger ended up making a move to Old Trafford, where he won the league, his first Champions League trophy and his first Balon D’or.

Sporting Lisbon are going to have to get in line for the Portuguese forward. The 31-year-old winger has stated that he wants to end his career with Real Madrid, going as far as saying that he would offer himself a 10 year contract if it were up to him.
More from The Real Champs
A move to Old Trafford has also been a recurring rumor for the last 2 transfer windows. With Mourinho in charge of the red devils, it seems like the perfect pairing to bring the forward back.
The Sporting CP president had this to say about the Champions League match up: “It’s going to be special to come up against him just as it’s going to be special for him, as was seen in Ronaldo’s face when he found out in the draw that he would face us. We are playing against our boy and he is playing against the team where he formed himself as a player. It’s going to be beautiful.”
Real Madrid are set to host Cristiano’s home team at the Santiago Bernabeu this Wednesday
