Sporting KC down Red Bulls 1-0 in MLS

French defender Aurelien Collin scored his first goal in nearly a year to lead Sporting Kansas City to a 1-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer on Wednesday.

Collin headed in the winner in the 13th minute off a corner, seconds after goalkeeper Luis Robles tipped Seth Sinovic's shot over the crossbar.

Four minutes later, the Red Bulls had a chance to the level the scores when Juninho lofted the restart into the box and Kansas City keeper Jimmy Nielsen came off his line to punch it away. The ball bounced toward Thierry Henry, whose rebound attempt from close range was batted away by Nielsen.

Thierry Henry had another chance to equalize for New York in the 64th minute, but pushed his shot inches wide of the right post.

Juninho was sent off in the final minute when he kicked a ball toward Nielsen's face during a break in play. Juninho was shown a red card for the unsportsmanlike conduct.
