Sporting director says Roma is not a 'supermarket'

ROME (AP) Sporting director Monchi says that Roma is ''not a supermarket'' and there will be no bargain deals for clubs interested in signing its key players, like Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool has reportedly been in negotiations to bring former Chelsea winger Salah back to the English Premier League.

Speaking at a news conference to present new coach Eusebio Di Francesco on Wednesday, Monchi said ''there is interest in Salah from an English club, there is an offer, but we set the price and we decide if we sell at that price.''

He adds: ''Roma is not a supermarket. Our aim is to get better than last season.''

Roma achieved a club record 87 points in Serie A last season, but still finished second, four points behind Juventus.
