Southampton signs midfielder Victor Wanyama

English Premier League club Southampton has signed midfielder Victor Wanyama from Celtic.

The 22-year-old Kenya international has joined the south-coast English club on a four-year deal for a reported club-record 12.5 million pounds ($19 million).

Wanyama says ''there were other options, but Southampton is a club with ambitions so I chose to come here.''
