Sources: Swansea agree $7.9million deal to sign Braga striker Eder

Swansea City have agreed a £5m deal to sign Braga striker Eder, according to Sky sources.

Southampton and Bournemouth were also believed to be interested in the Portugal international, 27, but the Swans have jumped to the top of the queue by having a firm offer accepted.

Prolific Ivory Coast forward Wilfried Bony left the Liberty Stadium to join Manchester City for £25m in January and manager Garry Monk is keen on bringing in a new frontman permanently after Nelson Oliveira's loan expired in south Wales.

Eder has been capped 18 times by his country and scored 10 goals in the Primeira Liga last season.

He moved to Braga from Academica Coimbra in July 2012 and would be asked to partner Bafetimbi Gomis in the Premier League next season by Monk.
