Senna snubs Swansea switch

The 34-year-old, whose contract expired earlier this summer, has agreed a one-year extension to stay at El Madrigal. Senna held talks with Swansea about a possible move to Wales, but the midfielder has opted to stay in Spain. Senna is believed to have called Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers to inform him of his decision to stay with Villarreal rather than take up the challenge of moving to the Premier League. Speaking on his Twitter account, Senna thanked Villarreal president Fernando Roig for awarding him a new contract. "I decided to accept the proposal of the Villarreal family and I thank Roig for his confidence," said Senna.
