Saunders' plan works a treat
Doncaster manager Dean Saunders said his side's 2-0 win at Leyton Orient on Saturday had gone exactly according to plan.
Rovers pair Iain Hume and David Cotterill were on target with first-half goals as Saunders' side halted Orient's four-match unbeaten run.
"It was a typical away performance that you need in this league," Saunders said. "I knew they were going to hit the ball on top of us and try to also get it down the side of us, so I picked the team to contend with that.
"We had to change the system because of injuries which was disappointing coming off the back of three good league results, but we scored two good goals and scrapped and defended brilliantly.
"All of our players are working their socks off and I'm really pleased that as a manager, if you can get a group of really genuine players on the pitch, that's half the battle.
"You want players who are all pulling in the same direction and I feel that I've got that now."
