Sao Paulo signs Roma's Cicinho on loan
Sao Paulo says it has agreed to sign right back Cicinho on a
six-month loan deal from AS Roma.
Sao Paulo said Tuesday that Cicinho will stay until June 30
but the contract may be extended if it advances in the Copa
Libertadores, Latin America's most important club competition.
Financial details were not immediately disclosed.
Cicinho was a key member of Sao Paulo's team when it won the
2005 Copa Libertadores. That same year, he also helped the team win
the Sao Paulo state championship and FIFA's Club World Cup.
Cicinho missed several months last year with Roma because of
a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
He scored 21 goals in 126 matches with Sao Paulo in 2004 and
'05.
