Sanogo out for 10 weeks with thigh injury

Saint-Etienne striker Boubacar Sanogo will undergo thigh surgery and could be sidelined for up to 12 weeks.

Sanogo joined Saint-Etienne from Werder Bremen last season and failed to live up to high expectations, scoring just one goal in 17 league games.

Saint-Etienne said Monday he will be out for between 10 and 12 weeks.

Left back Yoann Andreu will also undergo surgery after injuring his groin and will be sidelined for about four months.

Saint-Etienne leads the French league standings for the first time in 28 years after six games this season.
