Sagna out three months with broken leg
The French Football Federation says Bacary Sagna will be sidelined for about three months after the Arsenal fullback sustained a broken fibula in his team's Premier League defeat at Tottenham on Sunday.
Sagna will undergo surgery on Monday and be replaced by Lille defender Mathieu Debuchy in the France squad for its upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers.
The injury in Arsenal's 2-1 loss at White Hart Lane comes at a bad time for both his club and national team.
Arsenal is struggling in the Premier League, two points above the relegation zone, and has an inexperienced back up in Carl Jenkinson. France plays Albania on Oct. 7 and Bosnia-Herzegovina on Oct. 11 as it tries to secure a place at Euro 2012 from Group D.
