Rutten rues missed opportunities

Top two FC Twente and Ajax both also won their games on Sunday and, with the pair meeting in the final round of matches on May 15, top spot is now beyond PSV. It could all have been so different had Rutten's side not lost 3-1 at Feyenoord eight days ago - victory in Rotterdam would have seen PSV head into the final round of fixtures top of the pile. Rutten said: "We could have won by a larger margin, but we hit the post twice. "We met expectations, did what we had to do, but elsewhere our nearest competitors unfortunately also recorded wins. "We still feel the disappointment of last week's 3-1 defeat at Feyenoord." Midfielder Stijn Wuytens will be monitored on Monday after limping off midway through the second half with a knee injury. "We will make an assessment on his injury [on Monday]," Rutten added. "I think Wuytens and Abel Tamata put in a fine display at left- and right-back respectively."
