Russia squad retained for Euro qualis next month
The Russia team that beat Serbia 1-0 in a friendly last week has been retained in a 20-man squad for 2012 European Championship qualifiers next month.
There were no newcomers in the squad named on Friday, for home matches against Macedonia on Sept. 2 and Ireland four days later at Luzhniki Stadium.
Russia is tied with Ireland and Slovakia at the top of Group B.
Coach Dick Advocaat told the daily Sovetsky Sport that the team performed well against Serbia.
''I called up the same players, and that means that I trust them,'' he said.
