Ruiz leads Costa Rica roster against Paraguay
Twente midfielder Bryan Ruiz has been included in the roster picked by interim Costa Rica coach Ronald Gonzalez for Wednesday's exhibition at Paraguay.
Gonzalez will be in charge of the team until Sept. 30 while the Costa Rican federation seeks a full-time replacement for Rene Simoes, who quit last year after Costa Rica failed to qualify for the World Cup.
The game in Paraguay will be played to honor Salvador Cabanas, who survived a gunshot wound to the head at point-blank range on Jan. 25 in a bar in Mexico City. Cabanas was expected to be a star for Paraguay in the World Cup, but has spent six months undergoing rehabilitation.
