Robson pens new Carlisle deal
Striker Djamel Bakar is ready to make an impact at Montpellier after the club confirmed he will sign a four-year deal.
Bakar, 24, who was out of contract at relegated Nancy, hopes to build on his eye-catching performances after scoring five times in 35 Ligue 1 appearances last season.
"There were other top-flight teams who were interested, but Montpellier had a number of arguments," Bakar told ligue1.com.
"They're a club set up to grow, to play at the top end of the table, with very passionate people behind them.
"The fact they had been following me from the first half of the season also influenced my choice. That shows that they really count on me. To my mind, it's the right club for me to improve."
The 28-year-old accepted the club's offer to remain at Brunton Park until the summer of 2015.
Robson scored eight goals in 41 appearances last season and scooped five awards at the club's player-of-the-year bash.
He joins captain Paul Thirlwell, defender Danny Livesey and youngster Josh Todd in agreeing new deals with the Cumbrians since the end of the season.
Earlier this month manager Greg Abbott, assistant Graham Kavanagh and first-team coach Tony Caig also agreed new one-contracts with the club.
