Robbie Rogers hopes L.A. Galaxy can have a positive influence on Chick-fil-A
In June of 2012, President and COO of Chick-fil-A Dan Cathy grabbed headlines by making a series of comments positioning himself against same-sex marriage. Those comments came soon after it came to light that Cathy's charity had donated to a bunch of One-Man-One-Woman type organizations. Though Chick-fil-A has been doing a little better of late, Cathy hasn't really walked back any of those comments, so the issue is still an open wound.
This made Monday's announcement of Chick-fil-A's partnership with the L.A. Galaxy -- who has the MLS' first-ever openly gay player in Robbie Rogers -- kind of awkward.
Rogers shared his thoughts on Facebook on Tuesday.
Only time will tell.
The Galaxy won their season-opener against DC United and will look to improve to 2-0 this coming Saturday when they take on the Colorado Rapids.
