Report: Sunderland in talks with Man United over Januzaj loan deal

Sunderland are reported to be in discussions with Manchester United over a deal to take Adnan Januzaj to the Stadium of Light on loan.

The winger has failed to establish himself in Louis van Gaal's first XI and Sunderland hope to recruit the 20-year-old for the forthcoming season.

United have added Memphis Depay to their attack and hope to seal the signing of Pedro from Barcelona. Those arrivals further limit Januzaj's prospects at Old Trafford this season, and the Sunderland Echo report that talks between United and the Black Cats have already begun.

Januzaj burst on to the scene under David Moyes and was seen as one of the very few positives of the Scot's brief reign during 2013-14. The Belgian signed a new five-year contract in October 2013 but found opportunities harder to come by under Van Gaal. Everton have been linked with the versatile attacker for much of the summer, but it seems Sunderland are now in pole position.

The Black Cats are also hopeful of securing deals for midfielders Leroy Fer and Yann M'Vila.
