Report: Rai and Sky Italia to split Euro 2016 coverage

Italian broadcasters Rai and Sky Italia are to share coverage of this summer’s Uefa Euro 2016 tournament.

Public-service network Rai will air 27 of the 51 scheduled games on an exclusive, free-to-air basis, according to the Calcio e Finanza website, which cites director general Antonio Campo Dall’Orto.

The Calcio e Finanza report says the network originally offered €54 million for 23 games, but has ended up agreeing its 27-game deal for ‘close to €70 million’.

The terms of Sky’s deal and its planned coverage are not available.

Euro 2016, expanded to 24 teams for the first time, kicks off in France on 10th June and will run for a month.
