Report: Mourinho eyes return to England

Jose Mourinho has decided to quit his role as manager of Spanish giant Real Madrid at the end of the current campaign with a view to returning to the English Premier League next season, The (London) Sunday Times reported, citing sources.

The Portuguese has reportedly grown disillusioned with life in the Spanish capital, with suggestions he is being undermined from within the club despite Real leading La Liga by seven points and comfortably qualifying for the UEFA Champions League round of 16.

"He's decided to come back to England and he will go in the summer," a friend of Mourinho is quoted as saying in the report.

There are no vacancies at the top teams in England, but he is expected to be linked with any one of Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and even Chelsea, where he left in 2007 after a falling out with Roman Abramovich.

Mourinho has reportedly buried his differences with Abramovich, and Chelsea manager Andres Villas-Boas has come under intense pressure, with the London club sitting 13 points behind leader Manchester City.

Mourinho had great success at Chelsea, winning the EPL title in 2005 and 2006.

He is also expected to be linked with Tottenham, with its manager Harry Redknapp favorite to succeed Fabio Capello as England coach later this year.
