Report: Ex-Chelsea defender Cole set to join Gerrard at LA Galaxy

Former England defender Ashley Cole has accepted an offer to join LA Galaxy, according to various reports on Sunday.

The former Chelsea left-back has had his contract canceled with Roma, having failed to make an impression at the Serie A club.

Various reports both in the USA and Italy on Sunday suggest Cole is set to sign a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy, where he will link up with his former England team-mate Steven Gerrard.

Cole's days at Roma appeared numbered after he was left out of Roma's 25-man Champions League squad and he now looks set for a swansong in the MLS.

The 35-year-old, who won 107 caps for England, played 16 times for the club in his first season in the Italian capital but has yet to feature during the current campaign.

Cole came through the ranks at Arsenal before joining Chelsea for £5m in 2006 and he subsequently made the move to Italy on a free transfer in July 2014.
