Real Madrid will sign 16-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Vinicius Junior for reported €45 million

Real Madrid have announced the signing of promising young Brazilian Vinicius Junior from Flamengo, activating his release clause with a reported €45 million fee the price to secure his services for the future.

The 16-year-old has played just 17 first-team minutes for Flamengo this season, but his €45 million transfer will be Brazil's second highest ever sale after Neymar's move from Santos to Barcelona.

Due to FIFA's youth transfer regulations, the 16-year-old attacker will stay in Brazil until at least his 18th birthday in July of 2018, but the youngster could stay at Flamengo until 2019, depending on Madrid's wishes and the player's development.

Vinicius made his debut as a professional for Flamengo earlier in May, following starring performances for Brazil at the 2017 South American Under-17 championship in March, where he finished as top scorer with seven goals and was named player of the tournament.

Already being dubbed the "new Neymar," Vinicius signed a new contract with Flamengo just last week that boosted his release clause from €30 million to €45 million, and Madrid have reportedly agreed to pay the entire fee.
