Real Madrid treat Colombian 'angel boy' who helped with Chapecoense rescue efforts

When news broke about the Chapecoense plane crash, it was hard to imagine there would be any survivors. But a 15-year-old Colombian boy has been credited with helping guide rescuers to the crash site and save lives. As a reward for his quick thinking, Real Madrid stepped in to host Johan Alexis Ramirez, who is a big fan of the Merengues.

Ramirez stopped by before a training session and met a number of Real Madrid stars.

Fellow Colombian James Rodriguez was also on hand to greet the boy, who received a signed kit from the Real Madrid midfielder.

"James represents all Colombians. It’s very emotional and something very nice for me," Ramirez said, via the club's website. "This shirt is a very nice gift that I will have for a lifetime, it's a pleasure for me."

Ramirez, who has been nicknamed "angel boy" for his efforts in the Chapecoense crash rescue, also received an invite to Real's 2-0 win against Espanyol over the weekend. The accolades for the youngster don't stop there, either.

He's received commendations from the Brazilian and Colombian governments, as well. He deserves every bit of praise coming his way.
