Real Madrid forward Bale set to undergo tests on injured calf

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale will undergo tests on a suspected calf problem on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old was forced to withdraw from the first half of Sunday's La Liga game at home to Sporting Gijon, with Real leading 5-0 at the time.

Bale had even scored with a seventh-minute header to put Real 1-0 up at the Bernabeu.

Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague tweeted : "Bale won't play the second half. Tests on Tuesday. Muscle problem."

Bale has already been sidelined with calf problems twice this season, missing around two weeks each at a time.

Fellow Real forward Karim Benzema also limped off in the second half of the game but his injury is not thought to be serious.
