Real Madrid fan starts petition to replay Barcelona/PSG, gets over 100,000 signatures

The pettiness between Real Madrid and Barcelona fans is very real and always on display, even when the teams aren't playing each other. So when Barcelona pulled off their miracle comeback to beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, of course Real Madrid fans had to jump to action.

That is why a Real Madrid fan made a petition demanding the match be replayed. And why it has already more than 100,000 signatures.

Luis Melendo Olmedo started the petition, claiming that referee Deniz Aytekin made grave errors that favored Barcelona, thus resulting in an unfair match.

His reasoning is as follows:

"Incidents that seriously damaged PSG. As a consequence of the refereeing of the German Deniz Aytekin who benefited Barcelona with his actions and his refereeing.

"That is why I question the aptitude of the referee for his serious mistakes made during the match.

"I present evidence to anyone who wants to see them."

The petition then lists calls that Olmedo thought the referee got wrong. They include the penalty Luis Suarez drew for Barcelona's fifth goal, which was subject to plenty of scrutiny.

Of course, it's hard for a referee to orchestrate a comeback from 4-0 down after the first leg. And it's essentially impossible for the referee to make Barcelona score three goals in the final seven minutes. Unfortunately for Olmedo, this one had more to do with Barcelona and PSG than it did Aytekin, but this is Real Madrid and Barcelona so there's gotta be some pettiness. This time it came in the form of a petition.
