Real captain Ramos expects to miss Spain's friendly with England

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos expects to miss Spain's international friendly against England with a recurring shoulder problem.

The Spanish defender got hurt during Sunday's 3-2 La Liga defeat at Sevilla and was replaced in the 22nd minute.

Ramos had dislocated his left shoulder during a Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk back in September and missed several games for Los Blancos before returning to action last week against Paris St Germain.

"My shoulder is so-so," Ramos said on his club's official website. "I fell and tweaked it (shoulder) again.

"The important thing now is recovering and waiting until Tuesday, when I'll have a scan.

"It looks unlikely that I'll be available for the national team now because if I wasn't able to play on in this match..."

Ramos was named in Vicente del Bosque's squad for the match against England in Alicante and next week's friendly against Belgium in Brussels.

The experienced defender is hoping to recover in time for Real's home match against Barcelona on November 21, the first "El Clasico" of the season.

"Now I'll have to try and recover as quickly as possible because it's an injury that can cause you problems if it doesn't heal well," Ramos said.

Los Blancos, who lost their first game under coach Rafa Benitez on Sunday at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, are three points adrift of league leaders Barcelona in La Liga.
