QPR appeals Derry red card
Queens Park Rangers have appealed Shaun Derry's red card during the 2-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.
Derry was controversially sent off for denying Ashley Young a clear goalscoring opportunity when he tugged him back inside the box.
However, TV replays indicated that the Manchester United winger was offside and that the decision was debatable at best.
The decision to dismiss Derry incensed Rangers boss Mark Hughes with the midfielder facing up to the prospect of missing Wednesday's crucial clash with Swansea.
QPR have now lodged an appeal with the Football Association in a bid to have the sending off overturned and Rangers were expected to find out the verdict later on Tuesday.
