Qatar coach fined for skipping interview

Qatar says it has dropped midfielder Hussein Yasser from its Asian Cup team ahead of Friday's quarterfinal match with Japan.

The 27-year-old, who plays for Egyptian giants Al Zamalek, got into an argument with the team's coach Bruno Metsu Tuesday and walked out of a training, manager Abdulrahman Al Mahmoud said on the team's website. Yasser was upset after being replaced by Metsu with youngster Mohammed Al Sayed in the first match against Uzbekistan, he said.

Yasser didn't start in the team's next two matches and has not scored for his side in the tournament.
