Pulis focused on cup triumph

Pulis insists he is too busy getting his players ready for the final against Manchester City on Saturday at Wembley to be bothered with history. George Latham was the last Welsh coach to win the trophy with Cardiff in 1927 when Englishman Fred Stewart was manager. Eighty four years on Pulis is on the brink of something special. He admitted: "I do not even think about things like that. The biggest thing now as you get closer to the game is preparing the players and making sure they their minds are on the final. "The most important thing is focusing on the game and winning it. The rest of it then follows. That is massive for us. You hope the Gods are with you." Pulis is disappointed Premier League matches have been scheduled in the hours leading up to what he still regards as a showpiece occasion. He said: "I think it is wrong. They have done it because the Champions League final is at Wembley and they want two clear weeks. "It just puts into place everything that is happening in English football. "International football comes first, then Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup, which was traditionally the last game of the season. "We have to get on with it and our priority is to go there and give it the best go we can. "If you had said to me at the beginning of the season we would be in it I would be doing somersaults. We will just make sure we enjoy it."
