PSG meets Arsenal to open Champions League group stage
Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal both enter this season's Champions League aiming to reach higher ground than in years past, but they'll have to contend with each other for a place in the knockout stage.
The two European giants open Group A play against one another in Paris, where Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that he turned down multiple overtures from the host club to leave the Emirates for his native land. He's turned to an interesting starting XI in the French capital, leaving goalkeeper Petr Cech on the bench in favor of David Ospina and leaving new signing Granit Xhaka and Olivier Giroud on the bench.
PSG, meanwhile, adapts to life without the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic under new manager Unai Emery, who has overseen a shaky start to the club's Ligue 1 campaign.
Here are the lineups for both squads:
Paris: Aréola, Aurier, Marquinhos, T Silva, Maxwell, Verratti, Krychowiak, Rabiot, Di Maria, Cavani, Matuidi. #UCL
