Portugal's Postiga out of semifinals with injury
Portugal striker Helder Postiga will miss next Wednesday's European Championship semifinal against France or Spain after injuring his right thigh.
Postiga was taken off the field on a stretcher in the first half of Portugal's 1-0 quarterfinal win over the Czech Republic on Thursday.
The Portuguese Football Federation said on its website Friday that Postiga would be out for the semifinals in Donetsk, Ukraine.
The 29-year-old forward was Portugal's second-highest scorer in Euro 2012 qualifying with five goals. He and Cristiano Ronaldo are the only two players remaining from Portugal's Euro 2004 squad.
He has scored 20 goals in 53 national team appearances.
