Porto looks for new coach after Ferreira exit

FC Porto is searching for a new coach after the departure of Jesualdo Ferreira.

Portuguese media reports say the club is considering Fluminense coach Muricy Ramalho and Corinthians coach Mano Menezes as possible replacements. Both coaches are Brazilian.

Domigos Paciencia, who led Braga to a second-place finish in the Portuguese championship last season, and Andre Villas-Boas, a former assistant to Jose Mourinho and now at Academica, are also said to be on the short list.

The Portuguese club said late Wednesday 64-year-old Ferreira left by mutual consent.

Ferreira guided Porto to three consecutive league titles since taking charge in 2006 but could only manage a third-place finish last season.
