Poland beats Canada 1-0 in friendly

Maciej Rybus scored to give Poland a 1-0 win over Canada on Wednesday, its first victory under new coach Franciszek Smuda.

Rybus drove a shot past goalkeeper Lars Hirschfeld in the 18th minute after receiving a headed pass from Kamil Kosowski.

It was Poland's second match under Smuda, who took over last month from interim Stefan Majewski. Former coach Leo Beenhakker was fired in September after a series of poor results.
