Pletikosa regrets Spurs switch

The Croatia No.1 arrived in north London on a season-long loan from Russian giants Spartak Moscow last August. Pletikosa claims Spurs gave him assurances he would get the opportunity to battle for the gloves with first-choice shot-stopper Heurelho Gomes during his time at the Premier League club. But the 32-year-old has endured a frustrating season since being signed by manager Harry Redknapp, making a solitary Carling Cup appearance back in September. And Pletikosa, a regular for his country over the last decade, winning 82 caps, admits he has been left disappointed by the loan move. He said in The Sun: "Spurs assured me I would get a chance to compete with Heurelho Gomes to be No 1. "Now, looking back, I realise that my move was a mistake."
