Platini wants UEFA to rethink Wenger ban rule

Michel Platini says he wants to re-examine a UEFA rule which led to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger being banned for two Champions League matches.

The UEFA president says he is ''not in love with this regulation'' that prevents managers banished to the grandstand from communicating in any way with coaches in the dugout.

Platini says the rule should be discussed with Wenger and other leading club coaches during a two-day meeting at UEFA headquarters next week.

Platini says ''perhaps the rule is not good - we will see.''

UEFA banned Wenger for two matches after he relayed messages during a Champions League playoff against Udinese through an assistant who telephoned the dugout.

Wenger has appealed his sanction.
