Pemberton persuaded by vision

Bristol City's new assistant coach John Pemberton says the Robins' vision persuaded him to join the club.

The 48-year-old was appointed as the replacement for Richard O'Kelly on Monday and is looking forward to working with Sean O'Driscoll as the Ashton Gate side look to bounce back to the Championship at the first attempt in 2013/14.

"The vision of the club was a big factor for me," he told City's official website. "It's a chance to start something new at a big club, as we did at Forest.

"Somewhere along the line Bristol City have lost their way a bit, but there's no point in pointing fingers about what's gone before - it's about staying positive and looking forwards.

"I've known Sean a long time and have a way of working that I think works. I've spoken to the board and if I didn't think they were serious about what they wanted to do I wouldn't be here.

"Hopefully we can push on and have a successful season because that's what everybody wants."
