Pearson looking for points

Manager Nigel Pearson admits Leicester need a victory quickly in order to get their Championship promotion challenge back on track.

The Foxes are without a win in four matches and have won only one of their last eight, losing four times during that sequence.

They face east midlands rivals Derby in Saturday evening's televised clash.

Pearson insists his side head to Pride Park with renewed confidence, despite being denied victory at league leaders Cardiff in midweek when the hosts equalised in the fourth minute of injury time.

"It is a game we need to win," Pearson told Press Association Sport. "Recently results, not necessarily performances, have been indifferent and it is important that we get back to winning ways as soon as we can.

"We should have won at Cardiff. We went to the league leaders and out-played them on their own patch.

"Confidence has been lacking recently but I think we will go into the game against Derby feeling a bit better about ourselves.

"We have turned a few corners a few times this season when people have started to doubt us and we believe we can do it again."
