Pato diagnosed with leg muscle tear
AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato faces another spell on the sidelines after suffering a recurrence of a hamstring injury during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Napoli.
The Brazil international was only just returning from three weeks out because of a similar complaint, but lasted just 15 minutes before he had to be substituted.
The 20-year-old underwent an initial assessment today and is due to have further tests as Milan look to get to the root of the problem.
"Alexandre Pato underwent medical examinations which highlighted a rupture to the right femoral bicep of the tendon juncture," a statement on the club website read.
"In the coming days Pato will undergo further check-ups."
Pato had suffered the injury on February 28 after scoring twice in a 3-1 win over Atalanta.
He missed the return leg of Milan's Champions League last-16 tie as they crashed out against Manchester United.
He also missed two league games and in his absence the Rossoneri managed just one goal in three games.
