Olympiakos remains unbeaten in Greece, beats Platanias 3-1

ATHENS, Greece (AP) Defending champion Olympiakos upheld its perfect start to the Greek league by beating visiting Platanias 3-1 for a third straight win on Saturday.

Olympiakos survived a first-minute scare when it conceded a penalty. Goalkeeper Roberto blocked Thanassis Dinas' kick.

Jimmy Durmaz opened the scoring in the 11th, when a through ball from Alejandro Dominguez exposed Platanias' defense and the Sweden international, alone with the goalkeeper, calmly slotted the ball in.

Dominguez had a long shot hit the post in the 44th but did not miss in the 52nd when he took a backheel pass from Brown Indeye inside the area, dribbled past a defender, and shot low just inside the right post.

Six minutes later, Arthur Masuaku stole the ball at midfield, sprinted down the left flank, and exchanged passes with Durmaz before scoring Olympiakos' third goal.

In the 62nd, Dominguez's penalty kick was blocked by goalkeeper Kevin Olimpa.

Yaya Banana scored a consolation goal for Platanias in the 71st with a header off a corner kick.

Also, PAOK won 3-0 at Veria, and Asteras drew 1-1 at Kalloni.

On Sunday, Atromitos hosts Xanthi, and Panathinaikos travels to Panionios, AEK hosts Giannena, Panetlokos plays Panthrakikos, and Levadiakos travels to Iraklis. Atromitos and Panathinaikos hope for a win to catch Olympiakos in first place.
