Newcastle find winning touch at Aston Villa

First half goals from Papiss Cisse and Yohan Cabaye steered Newcastle to its first away win of the Premier League season on Tuesday, a 2-1 victory at Aston Villa that tipped the home side into the relegation zone.

Villa could only manage a penalty scored by Christian Benteke after the break as Newcastle ended a run of 17 away games without a victory in all competitions.

Cisse broke the deadlock after 19 minutes with his seventh goal of the campaign. New signing Moussa Sissoko provided the telling pass on his debut and Cisse drilled a low shot into the corner of the net.

Cabaye doubled Newcastle's lead after 31 minutes with a stunning volley from just outside the box following a headed clearance by Villa skipper Ron Vlaar.
